Fear

You can fear a lot of things, the dark , aloneness , animals etc. 

Fear can also be a part in sports, to lose, to be tired, not to be selected, not to be good enough etc.
As a athlete you have to handle fear, if you cant hold control of fear, it will hold you back and limit your performance. In rowing you are smoked if fear take control, you have to believe in your ability, feeling trust in your preparation and training. 

On the erg you have to stick with your plan, not doubt and not be defence. Its easy to let your mind slip away when the legs hurt, heart jumping to fast . 

Your mindset and strategy to handle pain and negative feelings when your body is on the limit to collapse will make big difference in the end. 

Erg rowing is a big physical challenge but its also very important that you have the right mindset, dont let fear limit you!
